Information About the 2016 National Cyber Summit:
The North Alabama Chapter of the Information Systems Security Association (NAC-ISSA), Cyber Huntsville Corporation (CHC), Auburn University Research and University of Alabama in Huntsville are hosting its Annual Cyber Security Summit June 8th and 9th, in the South Hall of the Von Braun Center.
The 8th Annual National Cyber Summit is a two day annual event with over 1,000 military, government, commercial, and academic attendees focused on cyber security related disciplines. We anticipate over 100 commercial companies will attend this year’s Cyber Summit, as well as representatives from numerous Department of Defense organizations, and civilian departments and agencies, to include the NSA, DHS, NIST, U.S. Army, NASA, TVA, NSF, and DOE. More than 200 academic institutions will be invited by the National Information Assurance Education and Training Program (NIETP) at NSA.
This year’s premier event is focused on “Cyber Security across the Life-Cycle” and will bring together commercial, federal-sector, and academic communities to address the most up-to-date cyber security issues. NSA and DHS will designate their National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity (CAE-C) at the summit. We would like to invite everyone to attend the 8th Annual National Cyber Summit (the largest Cyber Security Summit in the Southeast United States).
“The Cyber threat is one of the most serious economic and national security challenges our nation faces. Cyber security affects nearly every aspect of our lives - critical infrastructure, banking, healthcare, transportation, etc. Our nation’s economic prosperity in the 21st century will depend on well we manage cybersecurity” , National Cyber Summit Chair, Rodney Robertson.
Even if your business is not big enough to have a CIO or other dedicated in-house resource to manage security strategies. After attending the summit you’ll walk away with a checklist of things to do and a list of contacts that can mentor you. The National Cyber Summit offers many exciting and unique opportunities for your organization to get involved and gain exposure.
“There is no better place to address cyber security than in Huntsville, Alabama,” said Mayor Tommy Battle. “This city is at the pinnacle of technology, and the Cyber Summit brings together the best and brightest from our government, industry, and academic technical community.”
